What happenes to anorexics?

Answer:
Your body will eventually go into "starvation" mode, meaning that your metabolism will slow down, and anything that you do eat will turn to fat. It can cause heart problems, eventually (hence Karen Carpenter from the Carpenter Sisters).More immediate effects aside from the massive weight loss can be dry and brittle hair and nails, constipation, secondary amenorrhea (failure to menstruate after menstruation has initially begun), lower heart rate, inability to tolerate the cold, and fatigue.Once it has gotten to a certain stage, the patient will develop lanugo (the fine body hair that usually covers premature infants that have not developed fat cells, yet) and will have problems walking. The latent stage is heart failure or death.Anorexia Nervosa is usually treated with hospitalization (if severe), psychotherapy, and antidepressant medications.
Untreated, they die!
They realized bulimia was more sustainable.
Well, do you mean what do they do? Thay don't eat. They basically starve themselves into weight-loss. It's extremely bad for the body and can cause death.
they lost appetite.
anorexic people eat very little food. less than a cup a day. therefore they are getting WAY under the reccommended amount of protien, vitamins, calories, and carbs. this will cause their bones to become brittle and weak. they become very fragile and sick. their hair will eventually fall out and they have a hard time living a normal life. they cant stand long so they cant cook well, shower, dance, or even go shopping (like the do anyways!!).

Anorexics don't eat; but that doesn't mean they lack an appetite. Indeed, anorexics often display an obsessive interest in food. A typical anorexic will read about food, shop for, cook, and constantly think about food, in fact, will do everything with food except eat it. According to the American Psychiatric Association, from one-half to one percent of women between ages 15 and 30 suffer from anorexia. The number of cases appears to have increased in recent decades, although it is not clear whether this is due to an actual increase or better reporting. More deaths are attributed to anorexia than any other psychiatric disorder. Anorexics have usually been described as high-achieving, perfectionist, and compliant white adolescents from comfortable or affluent families. The stereotype has its limits, however. Increasingly, cases are being reported among African Americans and Hispanics. Those studying the spread of anorexia and other eating disorders have found that while age and gender are closely related to development of eating disorders, ethnic background and economic status are not. for more information see web site below

Well, annorexics feel the need to lose weight by not eating, and sometimes, obsessive excersise. They will be admitted to hospital, and diagnosed with annorexia nervosa, and then they will be painfully force fed, via a tube or orally. They may recover, or they may deterriorate and possibly even slip into a coma and die. But the chances are they maxy live (this is based on a really serious case)
Their body's gradually shut down and if they don't get treatment they can die of congestive heart failure (a heart attack).
